Molekylverkstan is a Science Discovery Centre with focus on chemistry. Our main purpose is to stimulate children and young people to learn more about the natural sciences.

We believe that a playful attitude and experiments that you can touch and feel are necessary to reach this aim. That's why a visit at Molekylverkstan offers you the opportunity to play with our experiments as long and as many times as you want.

Molekylverkstan is situated north of Göteborg on the Swedish West coast just south of a petrochemical complex. Our sponsors, who make it possible to run our centre, are the industries that together form this complex

We also offer you an interesting exhibition concerning the industrialisation of the swedish west coast.

 
   
 

Route Direction

By car
If you go by car, please choose any of the turn-offs from the E6 towards Stenungsund (there are two to choose from). Follow the signs toward the centre ("centrum"), then toward the tourist office, and finally toward "Kulturhuset Fregatten". 
The parking is free. Estimated driving-time from Göteborg and Uddevalla is 40 minutes.

By bus and train
If you go by bus from Göteborg please choose the bus “GL Express Röd”. When in Stenungsund, get off at the bus stop “Vårdcentralen”, which is just outside the entrance of Molekylverkstan (cross the road and a parking place).
From the north of Stenungsund, the fastest way to 
get to Stenungsund is to choose the train “Bohuståget”. 
The railway station is about ten minutes walking north of Molekylverkstan. 

By boat
58° 04' N, 11° 49' O. You will find that Stenungsund has a very good guest harbour.

Opening Hours

You can book your visit if you are a large group, and want a tour or just come down to the exhibition hall.

Tuesday-Friday: 10-17 (18)
Saturdays: 11-15
Sundays (11-15)

The times between ( ) apply during the time period of June - August.
